FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Why MVP?

- Originally, it’s registered as Momentum Video Productions, but it seemed too corporate and dull. What I really wanted from the start was to call it MVP anyway, because I’m a huge basketball fan, so I ended up using MVP DIGITAL VIDEO from then on.

2. When did you start doing wedding videography?

- I actually started part-time in 2004, covering mostly our friend’s and relative’s weddings. During those times, I still didn’t have an office/studio, so I did the editing in a spare room at our house.

3. Are you really from Cagayan de Oro?

- I was born in Marikina, studied grade school at Mandaluyong. Most of our relatives are based in NCR and my grandparents are from Batangas but have lived their lives here in Cagayan de Oro. Somehow, we also ended up here and fell in love with the place. The beaches are near, the people are friendly, and there are no traffic jams (well, 10 years ago!). My wife by the way is from Cagayan de Oro.

4. Do you do SDEs (Same Day Edits) / Onsite Videos?

- Yes. While SDEs/Onsite Videos are still relatively new in Cagayan de Oro, we are proud to say that we’re capable of producing them at par with our fellow videographers in Metro Manila.

5. Do you also do wedding photography?

- No. While income-wise, it would benefit us since we’ll be able to increase or even double our earnings for that day, it would not be fair for you since we’ll only source freelance photographers and include it in your package. The quality might be affected too as I can only handle one at a time so there is a big possibility of a “rushed” and “mismanaged” coverage. It’s always the best to get a separate videographer and photographer. We can also recommend photographers depending on your budget, if you like.

6. My wedding’s not in Cagayan de Oro, will you be able to cover my wedding?

- Sure. We cover weddings outside Cagayan de Oro, particularly in Davao where we have a sattelite office, in Cebu, Butuan, Ozamiz and the also the rest of Mindanao. Even if it’s in Metro Manila.  But, we have to charge for the travel expenses, accomodations, food and our pasalubongs (well, ok, kami na lang ana).

7. Your rates are higher compared to most videographers here in Cagayan de Oro and even in Davao, why is that?

- If you check on other videographer’s websites, especially those based in Metro Manila, you’ll see that we charge way lower than them while still having the quality comparable to them. Our rates are higher than most videographers here in Cagayan de Oro because we believe our product is better. We are totally committed to producing the best video coverage for your wedding using the same equipment and editing styles used by our Metro Manila counterparts. You are assured that you’ll really get your money’s worth.

8. What’s your style?

- Well, as others would say, unobtrusive, candid, artistic… basta you’ll really be comfortable with us. We don’t get in other’s way, especially with our fellow wedding suppliers. We respect that this is YOUR day, not our 15 minutes of fame, so we only shoot what happens during the wedding and not make it look like a shooting of a teleserye.

9. How long would my edited video take to be edited?

- Right now it’s within 2-3 months. Most here in Cagayan de Oro and Davao submit it in 1 or 2 weeks time, which is what it is, rushed. While we make sure we have time to really get our creative juices flowing in editing your wedding video, thus the long wait. Don’t worry, we immediately give a copy of your SDE/Onsite Video after the reception or the next day so that you can already show your memorable day to the ones you didn’t invite to the wedding, just kidding. :)

10. Can you cover my best friend’s wedding?

- Hehehe… oops sorry, yup. Even on your kuya’s or ate’s wedding, your teacher’s wedding, your boss’ wedding… refer us to all of your friends, especially the ones that are “in a relationship”.  :)

Summer Fever

We’ll be at the Fizz Bar for tonight’s SUMMER FEVER, an XU Batch 98 produced party and fashion show.  See you there!

5ive Years

Wow.  Today is our 5th (church) wedding anniversary.  Paz gave me this great gift for the office and chocolate.  Well as of this writing, only the wrapper of the chocolate remains on my table. :)

Yesterday I watched our own wedding video, which looked like it was shot 20 years ago!  But I’m not writing to diss the ones who made our video because for one, our budget at that time doesn’t afford us a better one, and two, there are no one better here in Cagayan de Oro.  Back then, I think it was still the ”old way” of documenting a wedding.  There were already quality photographers, but the videography here is still not yet that developed.

It’s been a wonderful 5 years with you, Paz… 20 more to go till our silver, 45 to gold.  Hope you’ll stay the same, physically… hehe and all.  Love you.

“When I fall in love, it will be forever…”  :)

Very, very early bird

We’ll be at KASALAN 2007 – Cagayan de Oro at Limketkai Center on July 12-15, 2007 and at KASALAN 2007 – Cebu at Ayala Center Cebu on October 19-21, 2007.

I know it’s too early pa, but as they say, the earlier, the birdier… uhmm… better.

Updates

I recently updated our Contact Us, FAQ, and RATES pages.  Check them out.  Thanks.

TMNT

The trailer of probably the coolest movie this 2007.

Practically grew up watching these “heroes in a half-shell”. Had a complete action figures collection of all 4 Ninja Turtles, including the Turtle Van! Saw the previous 3 films which was awesome, dude.

Can’t wait for the March 23 screening. Definitely gonna watch it while eating pizza! :p

MVP 2.0

Hi. This is Allan Christopher Michael Alejandrino of MVP DIGITAL VIDEO. This will be the new format of my website. Blog-style, not only that it’s the “in-thing” nowadays but really because updating it is much easier and faster than having a web developer do it. :)

Now since this will be my first entry here, let me show you some of our wedding onsite videos in the past.
